Sox-Yankees games are great for many reasons, but one of the best things about them is that they’re all photographed like it’s the World Series, making for some great footwear shots. Here’s a couple good views of some recent cleats:

Here’s a better shot of the new David Ortiz signature shoe… he wore these during his recent rehab assignment, but they made their MLB debut this weekend. I’m guessing Reebok hasn’t made him a black version yet; he wore his black ‘08 sigs on Saturday.

UPDATE: This model is now available at Eastbay (thanks to rbkguy for pointing this out). It’s called the Big Papi 2M Mid II, and the product image can be seen here.

Alex Rodriguez has worn this new signature model for most of ‘08, but this colorway is slightly different than the version he wore earlier in the season; the main difference is the silver accent on the medial side. Additional views here and here.

Dustin Pedroia has worn these Easton Foundation PE’s for a while now, but since I’ve always been a big fan of these, I felt they were worth mentioning. A close-up view can be seen here.

Finally, Robinson Cano has been wearing the Max MVP lately. These don’t look like a PE, but there’s a chance that it actually may be… this image is the only Nike catalog photo available for the black colorway, and while it’s just a 3D rendering, it doesn’t have Cano’s white outsole or white lace border, and Cano’s pair also has a black heel accent instead of the silver accent in the catalog shot. Additional views here, here, and here… Derek Jeter’s Jordan sigs are also shown above.
